I truly love this home, but kids are gone and it's too much for this single guy. Now, where do I start...
Well, it's a newer home, approximately 7 years old, so nothing to fix...
It's in a super great neighborhood with incredible neighbors and that alone is priceless. Hemlock Drive is on a cul de sac so it's a quiet street (no speeders, etc.) And this entire area is full of beautiful hard wood trees and mature well kept homes and streets.
It has very nice street appeal. Classy angles. Pitched roof with architectural shingles and brown/gray brick with stucco touches and arched columned front porch and a heavy cut glass front door. Big octagonal front room pushing forward from the face of the home adds a distinctive style and visual appeal... but come on in...
Foyer, Dining Room, Office/Library and Great Room...
The home is much larger on the inside than you are expecting. Now breath deep. Most all ceilings are extra tall (cathedral ceiling in great room) with very nice upscale lighting and ceiling fans for a touch of elegance. Upon entering the front door, the first thing you notice is the inviting open floor plan, great for entertaining. From the foyer to the right, the formal dining area is big enough for a nice sized table. And to the left, the octagon room with beautiful super tall trey ceilings and french drag textured walls. Crown molding adds elegance to several rooms. I used the octagonal room for an office and library, but you can use your imagination. Plenty of long tall windows up front. I'd just bought full length heavy, neutral color, monochromatic, black out drapes for the entire front of the house. They come with the house (unless you already have yours.) You can control the light, from super dark to super bright with all the windows front to the rear of the combination great room / dining room. Architectural rounded wall / columns separate the dinning and great rooms. Real fireplace of course and a super tall peaked ceiling to the great room / living room area. Quite comfortable and impressive. Oh, and a half bath for the guests is located in the dining room / great room area (perfect for keeping company out of your bath room!)
It's a cook's kitchen. Lots of love baked, sauteed and grilled up in here! Split level granite counter tops, lots of high end, soft close drawers and cabinetry and an enclosed floor to ceiling pantry for plenty of storage. The floor area is big enough for more than one cook when help is required, that's for sure and the layout is perfect. You can focus on your meal all the while interacting with your guests as you stand at the double stainless sinks with heavy hardware. There's a huge window from the kitchen through the breakfast area looking out to the back of the property full of Magnolias, oaks and and other hard wood trees and the starting point of the lazy Castile bayou. I enjoyed canoeing and kayaking with my son, but it's suited for a small boat if you're into speckled trout or bass fishing. Nature to the left, right and straight back. You'd think you were on vacation!
The Bed Rooms...
Can't ask for a better set up here as well. Two bedrooms to the back right of the home with a full bath in between. Both rooms have windows with relaxing views of nothing but nature. But the coup da gras has got to be the trey ceilings and the crown molding of the spacious master suite. This was designed to please mom and dad or one lucky bachelor or bachelorette. It's huge! "L" shaped bedroom perfect for a sitting, dressing or entertainment area. And walk into the master bath... over sized granite floor tile covers this spaciously long double vanity area with super long heavy framed mirrors. And now the coup de gras... Large oval Jacuzzi brand massage garden tub with unlimited bubbles to tickle your fancy (where ever that may be?!) And if you prefer showers... a full granite tiled sit down shower with massage shower head. Separate toilet room of course and a walk in closet an explorer could get lost in!
If you have kids, Gautier has a Blue Ribbon, 5 Star school with excellent academic, arts, tech and sports programs. My son and I were very impressed with their personal attention to their students.
This Hemlock home has a wide double car garage... plenty of closets too! Coat closet, towel and linen closet and storage closets everywhere... a separate laundry with large utility sink... a cavernous attic over the garage for lots of storage... a brand new 16 seer super efficient air conditioner system... and so many more features I'm sure I've forgotten several things.
I'll be glad to answer any questions and show you around. And thank you for your time. I look forward to our meeting!
